Krissy Jackson
Krissy Jackson CPC, ACC is a career coach, specializing in working with women in IT. This was not originally a conscious decision. She started her coaching practice working with people who wanted to develop their businesses and careers - but three years ago, she found that her clients were achieving much more success and she was enjoying her work more than ever before. She looked closely at her client base and realized that her niche had found her. ALL of her clients were women working in IT, and there was symmetry between these smart, driven women and her intuitive, practical approach that sparked something she could have only dreamed possible. Having clarified this niche, Krissy has been able to bring together, often previously isolated women, from all over the world in her interactive webinars, teleconferences and live workshops, sharing ideas, growth, and friendship in a way that has not been possible in the past.
Fascinated by what makes some people successful and others not, Krissy has studied the mind, body connection and the connection between personal and professional success for the past 15 years. She has studied everything from aromatherapy massage, acupuncture, different forms of exercise and nutrition, Feldenkrais (a cross between yoga and Physiotherapy) and finally coaching.
It was Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais who said that his goal was to “make the impossible possible, the possible easy, and the easy elegant." that really struck a chord with Krissy, and when in 2003 she discovered coaching, she felt that this was the element that had been missing in her research. “A person can be introduced to many things, but in the end you can only help them by enabling them to help themselves. Positive development can only come from the heart of the individual who is changing and not from some outside force” she says.
Having earned her Certified Professional Coach (CPC) designation from the International Coach Academy and her Associate Certified Coach (ACC) from the International Coach Federation, Krissy an accomplished facilitator, went on to work as a team leader/coach for several well-known signature-coaching programs. Since 2006 she has specialized in working with women in IT and has been successfully coaching both private clients and groups in this niche.
Krissy is actively involved in the International Coach Federation where she has just taken up a director position on the 2009 global ICF Board of Directors. She was the 2008 chairperson for the Research and Education taskforce, and is a member of the Education Advisory Group.
Krissy is a natural networker and is an online co-moderator for “Passion for Work” on Xing, one of the largest online business networking platforms on the web. Apart from this group Krissy enjoys partnering with other organizations and can be found on the Women in Technology UK website where she offers training via webinar to their membership. She also enjoys travelling to cities all over Europe to host networking events and workshops for her cliental.
Background: After being born and having grown up in New Zealand, Krissy did the typically Kiwi (New Zealand) thing of travelling for some months in her early 20’s visiting countries in Asia, Africa and Europe before settled in London. There she lived and studied until 1996 when she moved with her, then husband, to a small village nestled among the lakes and mountains in Switzerland. It is in this idyllic setting, that, even after her divorce in 2002, she has chosen to make her home.
